7/27/09--Notified of New Court Date set for 7/31//09
7/23/09--Orig. Court Date Postponed
7/7/09--Notified of Court Date set for 7/24/09
6/11/09--REFERRAL DAY!!!
4/6/09--Officially on Waitlist!!
3/6/09--USCIS Approval Letter (I-171H) received
2/10/09--Gladney Approved!!
11/5/08--CSS Homestudy with Jodi
10/16/08--Third payment to PI to find K; Discontinued search
10/11/08--Moved into new house
9/16/08--Second payment to PI to find K
8/25/08--Mary T. called with lead on K
8/16/08--First payment to PI to find K
8/6/08--Individual Interviews with CSS caseworker
7/31/08--FBI Fingerprints done
7/22/08--Mtg. with local caseworker at CSS
7/16/08--Mary T. called to inform us that K ran away from orphanage
7/11/08--Background Check submitted to CSS
6/4/08--USCIS Biometrics/Fingerprinting Appt.
6/2/08--Tanya applied for passport
5/29/08--Mom & Dad's Dr. appt.
5/28/08---Kids' Dr. appt.
5/20/08--Sent Group #1 paperwork with Gladney App.
5/6/08--Telephone interview with Judy at Gladney
4/29/08--Contacted Gladney re: K and started adoption process
4/14/08---Read Krista's email re: K and decided to adopt

We're Home!

Although we're still recuperating, things are going EXTREMELY well! We have such a love bug! Gabriel is a happy, easy-going little guy. Although nap time and night time are a little hard, he's slowly gaining trust and exhibiting less fear. The kids are so in love with him and he with them. Praise God for such a smooth transition so far!

We feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful experience of inclusion, love, and hope. I am so very proud of my daughter and her family for opening their hearts and their entire lives to this child. We give our unlimited support now and in the future.

Your blog title reminds me of a book my husband recently read by Eugene Peterson (I think!) called "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction". He loved the book!
